Announcing Yoga for Hackers

Published by Stuart Jackson under Yoga for Hackers

Well, it’s official. I got a contract and I’m writing the book Yoga for Hackers. I’m working with a wonderful team of people at The Pragmatic Programmers. So far the process has been painless and I’m going to continue. Actually it’s been a lot of fun and I really like the people I’m working with.

So what is Yoga for Hackers going to be about?

Yoga for Hackers is a book on yoga for people who may not have had any experience with yoga and are living the digital lifestyle. While the title implies that this book is for hackers, in reality I’m making the book for anyone who uses a computer for too long during the day or doesn’t know how to fit a yoga program into their active schedule.

My intent in writing Yoga for Hackers is to empower people who might have some misconceptions about yoga with the truth. Dispelling some ideas about how hard yoga is and how you have to do it for hours everyday to get the benefits and showing people how to get benefits when they want them and when their time permits.

In Yoga for Hackers we will go beyond stretching and yoga positions. We are going to look at sanskrit terms and meditation as well as breath work and chanting. We will cover topics that can help you reduce the stress in your life and help you take control of your own well being.

More to come about this soon …
